Aviation security

 

The AVSEC Department is a subdivision of Civil Aviation Administration responsible for the development of national aviation security policies, for planning and coordination of aviation security measures meant to safeguard civil aviation of the Republic of Moldova against acts of unlawful interference.

The primary objective of aviation security is to assure the protection and safety of passengers, crew, ground personnel, the general public, aircraft, airports and air navigation facilities against acts of unlawful interference perpetrated on the ground or in flight.

Effective civil aviation security can be achieved through the development, implementation and maintenance of comprehensive, flexible and effective national legislation, regulations, programmes, measures and procedures. AVSEC Department has developed and is implementing a National Civil Aviation Security Programme with the object of maintaining a standardized level of aviation security.

One of the key responsibilities of Civil Aviation Administration in the area of aviation security is allocation of tasks and coordination of activities between state departments and organizations, aircraft and airport operators and other entities concerned with or responsible for the implementation of various aspects of the National Civil Aviation Security Programme.
