The activity regarding the regulation of the flight safety in the Republic of Moldova is performed by the Flight Safety Department comprising: Certification and authorization– the activity of the Flight Safety Department for determination of the capacity and preparation of the air operator to perform commercial cargo operations in safety conditions and in an efficient way, according to the requirements and to the national and international regulations in force. Supervision – the main scope of the supervision is to determine the observance of the conditions according to which was issued the AOC, as well as observance of the national and international civil aviation regulations applicable in the civil aviation. The activity within the program SAFA – the main scope of the SAFA program (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) is improvement of the flights safety through apron inspections of the aircraft that land in the ECAC states. Investigation of the aeronautical accidents – the general scope of the investigation of aeronautical accidents is determination of the facts, conditions and circumstances of the aeronautical accident as to define the possible causes of the accident and the respective actions that could be taken as to prevent the similar accidents and the factors that caused the accidents.
