According to preliminary data given by representative of Civil Aviation Administration of Republic of Moldova, residing in Iraq, as a result of aeronautical accident of the aircraft An-26, registering number ER-26068, of the Air Company "Aeriantur-M", happened on 09.01.2007 nearby the city Balad (Iraq), 34 persons died, among them 5 crew members, citizens of Republic of Moldova. Just one person with turkish citizenship has survived.

      At the moment bodies remain in Turkey ( Adana ), only 7 of them were identified. In the nearest future crewmembers relatives will be transported in Turkey for identifications procedures. 

      Civil Aviation Administration of Republic of Moldova requested from Iraq authorities the delegation of full powers to investigate this case or the permission of participation for CAA representatives in investigation procedures.

      At the same time Civil Aviation Administration of Republic of Moldova will organize a repeated inspection of the Air Company "Aeriantur-M", which was the owner of the crashed aircraft, to explore any other possible conditions which may lead to the planecrash.
